About Me
Hello, and Welcome to my site! I’m glad you’re here!
This page is here for me to talk about myself and why you might be interested in reading what I have to say. I am in my early 20′s and graduated from university in December of 2007. Since then I have been gainfully employed in a standard salaried job. I was fortunate enough to graduate with no debt and since then I have been focusing on saving money. It is so easy to make mistakes at this stage in life that I’m surprised I’m doing as well as I am. At the same time, I still have a whole lot of room for improvement.
Ever since I started earning income during college I have been very interested in personal finance. I suddenly had money that I earned and I could do whatever I wanted with it. I like to think that I’ve learned a great deal about personal finance since then and I’m hoping to pass some of my knowledge and experience along to others through this site. I don’t claim to be an expert and so I will often post my experiences, thoughts, or opinions rather than direct advice.
I decided to name this site “Money Progress” for a few different reasons. The obvious one would be that it works as a fairly simple name and a relevant title for a personal finance blog. In addition, perhaps the thing that I am most obsessed about in the field of finance is my own money progress. I use sites like Yodlee to help keep track of my money and I check them absurdly often! I am particularly interested in following my net worth, like a number of other bloggers do. In addition to net worth I think there are other useful ways to measure financial success and I will also explore these on Money Progress.
